google.com what is amazon prime, Oct 2024, “AI Overview”:
Without
“Amazon Prime is a paid membership program that offers Amazon customers access to a variety of benefits, including:”
* Shipping: Free, fast, and reliable shipping on most Amazon purchases, including same-day, one-day, and two-day delivery  Not sure exactly but we’ll try it for a while now (Oct 2024) google.com/search?q=amazon+deliveries+without+prime
* Streaming: Access to Prime Video, Amazon Music, and other streaming services No. And we don’t really care any longer. Almost never look at anything via Amazon any longer. For a couple of different reasons:
1. Messy user interface, mixing w/ or w/o ads, free or for-pay media, always to a level of deception with “free” tags which can be arguable.
2. Messy plans nowadays, with and without ads, and we HATE ads.
* Reading: Access to e-books and Prime Reading  No(?). And we don’t use anyway (have had Audible on/off but only for shorter periods when some book has been hard to find elsewhere).
* Gaming: Access to free PC games, in-game content, and a monthly Twitch channel subscription No. Not / never used.
* Shopping: Exclusive access to deals and sales events like Prime Day, plus discounts at Whole Foods Market Not sure what we could possibly be missing out, really. Not like the we’ve been shopping too much on Prime Days to make a difference.
* Healthcare: Access to RxPass, which provides eligible medications for $5 per month, and One Medical, which offers a care team on call for everyday health concerns No. Not / never used.
* Fuel savings: Save 10¢ per gallon at over 7,000 gas stations across the U.S.  No. Not / never used.
* Cloud storage: Unlimited cloud photo storage No. Not / never used.
* Grubhub+: Free Grubhub+ membership, which includes $0 delivery fees on eligible Grubhub orders over $12 No. Not / never used, as far as know at least.
“Amazon Prime costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year, and new members can try it out with a 30-day free trial. Prime members can also share their benefits with one other adult.” (No cost.)
